Mending hedges

With approval from LBHF, a team met on Sunday 19 September – including (see photos above) Trustees Stephen, Ben, Smita and Emma, who led the team, with her husband Robert and other helpers - to build a “hidden entrance” to the wild meadow from the model aeroplane field. This will enable walkers to go between the mown field and the meadow, without encouraging over-use. It will be possible to close the entrance with a rope and an explanatory notice during the bird-nesting season.

All the Trustees – and their helpers – hope very much that this will be an acceptable solution to both those who originally build the hedge and those who have wished it wasn’t there.
