Friends of the Scrubs Activity Day 22nd May
Birds, Butterflies & the Meadow!
Join the friends for a trio of activities on our Activity Day Sunday 22nd May
First up - the early bird catches the worm! 5am start at the Scrubs Lane carpark noticeboard.
Bird walk with our resident bird expert, Barbara Crowther. Please bring binoculars. We will have some available if you need.
Second is the butterfly walk, starting at 10.30 at the noticeboard by the main entrance to the Linford Christie Stadium.
We are lucky to have this led by Malcolm Hull of Big City Butterflies.
And thirdly, a discussion on meadow management and hedge-laying, starting at midday on the aeroplane field, by the central copse & the ‘hidden’ entrance to the meadow.
Led by the newly installed Ecology & Environment Officer at IDVerde, Kate McVay, who also works with RSPB.
Come one, come all!
Sir Stephen Waley-Cohen
Chair, Trustees of Friends of the Scrubs
